Don't you love store-wide sales, when everything is discounted? Several are happening this weekend.
Let's start with discounts from low to high.
Grethen House in Edina will take 20 percent off everything Saturday, Oct. 30. It's a wonderful women's boutique, albeit pricey.
Electric Fetus in Minneapolis is discounting nearly everything 20 percent now through Halloween. It's an especially good time to pick up used CDs or DVDs at the extra discount, since the Fetus is not that price-competitive on new titles. It's also a good time to shop for irreverant gifts in the home furnishings department.
The Gap in Mall of America is re-opening Saturday, Oct. 30, after a remodeling. Everything will be 30 percent off during store hours of 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Also, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., get a Bare Escentuals mini-makeovers and a photo shot free. Live DJs will be mixing tunes during the sale. The 30 percent sale is only offered at at the MOA store. Store reps expect the metallic purse, leopard scarves and black jeans to be popular items during the sale.
Here's a great tip for adults who have procrastinated on getting a Halloween costume: The Halloween Shop in Burnsville Center (952-807-3897) will have everything 75 percent off on Sunday, Oct. 31, including costumes, make-up, wigs and masks. Most of the costumes are $40 to $60 before the discount. The store will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Halloween. The Halloween Shop is a temporary store open just for the season. Most of the temporary shops don't discount their stuff until Nov. 1, if they discount at all.
