December 16, 2009 at 8:25PM

The weekend starts with a storm centered off the central Atlantic coast. Thatcould make for very wintry conditions from Virginia into eastern Maryland.Cities that may get snow from the storm include Washington, D.C., Baltimore andRichmond. Whether or not significant snow gets as far north as New York andBoston has yet to be determined. However, keep in the back of your mind that itcould happen.

The Pacific Northwest will have a temporary break in the weather Saturday, butstormy conditions will resume in Washington and Oregon Saturday night andSunday.

The rest of the nation won't fare too badly this weekend, except of course inAlaska where the cold will be dastardly. In Fairbanks on Sunday, it willprobably drop to 40 below zero!Story By AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist John Kocet.
