What about Fiona

August 31, 2010 at 7:25PM

During the past week or so, the tropics have really come alive, and untilDanielle was absorbed by the westerlies, there were three named storms churningup the Atlantic.Currently, there are two tropical systems, and Hurricane Earl is stealing allthe headlines. Naturally, when a storm like this threatens the East Coast, itbecomes the big ticket item.

Lagging behind Earl is Fiona which can't get into the limelight as long as Earlis in the way. It would appear that some of the heat energy Fiona could use togrow stronger is being absorbed by the bigger and stronger hurricane upstream.

So poor little Fiona will remain a tropical storm through Friday while powerfulHurricane Earl churns north along the Atlantic Seaboard.
