WHERE'S DANIELLE HUNTER?
The Vikings star defensive end hurt his neck in practice last August. Since then, stories have periodically surfaced with glimpses into his health and wealth. He has not participated in the Vikings' OTAs (organized team activity) this week. Here's a timeline of Hunter's absence:
Aug. 14: Hunter injures neck in a Vikings practice.
Aug. 16: Hunter's first absence from next Vikings practice.
Aug. 17: Coach Mike Zimmer says Hunter has "a little tweak."
Sept. 9: Hunter is placed on injured reserve.
Sept. 10: Hunter seen rehabbing, jogging on practice field with team strength coach; GM Rick Spielman says he's "very optimistic" in interview with SiriusXM that Hunter's stay on IR will be for a minimum three weeks.
Oct. 2: Hunter gets second opinion at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
Oct. 22: NFL Network reports Hunter will undergo surgery and wants to become NFL's highest-paid defender or be traded.
