Red Wings up first on two-game trip
Wild update: Minnesota (33-19-3, 69 points, third in Central) begins a two-game trip that also will take the Wild to Columbus on Friday. With its 5-2 victory over the Rangers on Tuesday, the Wild is 16-5-2 vs. Eastern Conference teams. However, it has lost three of its past four games against East teams on the road and six of eight road games overall. … The Wild defeated Detroit 7-4 in St. Paul on Feb. 14 as LW Matt Boldy had three goals and an assist and LW Kirill Kaprizov (2-1-3) and WR Mats Zuccarello (0-3-3) had three points each. G Kaapo Kahkonen made 30 saves.
Red Wings update: Detroit (24-27-6, 54 points, fifth in Atlantic) has lost three consecutive games and five of its past six. Included in that span is a 9-2 loss to Arizona on Tuesday and a 10-7 loss to Toronto on Feb. 26, both in Detroit. … C Dylan Larkin (27-30-57) and LW Tyler Bertuzzi (24-24-48) are the top scorers for Detroit. G Alex Nedeljkovic (15-17-5, 3.19 GAA, .901 save percentage) and Thomas Greiss (8-9-1, 3.65, .888) share the goalie duties.
