Wine of the week: 2014 Raymond "R Collection" Lot No. 4 California Sauvignon Blanc

September 26, 2015 at 7:00PM

New Zealand meets California in seriously delicious fashion in the 2014 Raymond "R Collection" Lot No. 4 California Sauvignon Blanc ($14). Those who love both the New Zealander's grapefruit-dominated style and the Golden State's more tropical elements will find plenty to like here. It doesn't hurt that this white beauty is clean and refreshing from alluring start to vibrant finish. This wine, part of an impressive rebuilding program that Jean-Charles Boisset has undertaken at Raymond, is ideal for what's left of patio season but also will cozy right up to most any seafood dish, herby-spicy grilled chicken and fresh garden salads.

Available at Glen Lake, Big Discount, Jennings, MGM Blaine, Toasted, Vinifera, Tonka Bottle Shop and others.
