Wine of the Week: Owen Roe Sharecropper's Pinot Noir 2015

I love Oregon pinot noir, but I hate the usual prices. Even when they're worth $50, give or take, that's a major deterrent. Especially when delightful wines such as the Owen Roe Sharecropper's Pinot Noir 2015 can be had for $20. It hits all the check marks of Willamette Valley pinot noir: bright, juicy red fruit with a touch of spice, supple tannins and a finish that is somehow both robust and refreshing. The winery was named for Irish patriot Owen Roe O'Neil, an ancestor of co-founder David O'Reilly, and is actually based in Washington. Enjoy this food-friendly red with roasted fowl or root veggies, mildly spicy Tex-Mex dishes and of course salmon.
