WINNIPEG, MANITOBA – Kyle Connor, the No. 17 overall pick in last year's NHL draft, scored the second of four consecutive goals by the host Winnipeg Jets in a 4-1 preseason victory over the Wild on Thursday at MTS Centre.

Matt Dumba scored the Wild's lone goal 52 seconds into the second period for a 1-0 lead, but the host Jets responded with two goals in the second and two more in the third against Darcy Kuemper, who faced 28 shots.

Connor scored at the 15-minute mark of the second period to give Winnipeg a 2-1 lead.

Forward Mathieu Perreault had a power-play goal and an assist and Chase De Leo and Josh Morrissey each had two assists. Goalie Connor Hellebuyck made 27 saves for Winnipeg.

Wild defenseman Marco Scandella was scratched due to an undisclosed injury. Erik Haula and Dumba were the only two roster locks to play.

The Wild, 1-2 in three exhibition games, returns home to play Carolina on Sunday.

• The Wild trimmed its roster to 42 on Thursday by assigning Brady Brassart, Grayson Downing, Pavel Jenys, Nick Seeler, Steve Michalek and Nick Saracino to AHL Iowa.
