Wolves-Memphis game preview
Preview: The Wolves, losers of two straight and with their playoff hopes all but lost, will try to avoid dipping below .500 against a Memphis team that has won 14 of its past 19 games. The Grizzlies are right in the middle of the battle for the final spots in the Western Conference playoff picture, competing with Dallas and Phoenix for the final two berths.
Players to watch: Wolves F Kevin Love is coming off a 36-point, 14-rebound, nine-assist evening. PG Ricky Rubio continued his aggressive play of late, scoring 19 points on 7-for-12 shooting Sunday against Phoenix. Memphis G Mike Conley is averaging a career-high 17.1 points with six assists per game. F Zach Randolph leads the Grizzlies in scoring (17.1), rebounding (10.2) and double-doubles (41).
Numbers: Memphis is 24-9 since C Marc Gasol came back from a knee sprain. The Wolves ended an 11-game losing streak in Memphis with a 101-93 win there Dec. 15. The two teams have split two games this season.
Injuries: Wolves C Ronny Turiaf (knee) and G A.J. Price (appendectomy) are out. C Nikola Pekovic (ankle) is doubtful. PG J.J. Barea (sprained left foot) is questionable. Memphis G/F Quincy Pondexter (foot) is out.
