The Timberwolves might not be done adding big names to their roster.

It looks like Nemanja Bjelica will be next.

Bjelica is the Serbian power forward who, playing in the Turkish Basketball League this past season, was named Euroleague MVP after averaging 12.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.

The 6-10 Bjelica, 27, was drafted by the Wolves in the second round of the 2010 draft. Bjelica is under contract with his Turkish team until July 1.

Indications are Bjelica will be in a Wolves uniform this fall.

Flip Saunders, Wolves president of basketball operations, hinted Friday that Bjelica could wear a Wolves uniform this fall.

"I do believe that if he was a player who was in the [2015] draft, he would have been a top-10 pick," Saunders said. "And so we'll see what happens. But I'm optimistic. From what I hear from people is he does want to come over."

Adding Bjelica, a stretch forward, to the mix could make the Wolves a little heavy at the forward position.

When asked about this, Saunders smiled. "We can always make room,'' he said.

The Wolves would have to use a good part of their mid-level exception to sign Bjelica.

Free agency looms

With free agency starting next Wednesday, Saunders said he didn't expect to go out and sign a free agent anytime soon. "We have some of our own players to take care of," he said. "We'll have to wait and see. I'm pretty confident with where we are right now."

Saunders said he was confident that Tyus Jones and Zach LaVine would provide adequate backup to Ricky Rubio at the point.

As for Kevin Garnett, will he return?

"I can't get into that," Saunders said. "But listen: He wanted to come back to Minnesota. I think that's an indication of where his heart is. That's all I'll say."

Summer league stars

The team the Wolves plan on fielding at next month's summer league in Las Vegas could be a relative powerhouse.

Jones and No. 1 pick Karl-Anthony Towns will be on the team. Also expected are the likes of LaVine, Adreian Payne and Shabazz Muhammad, who is expected to use the league as part of his rehab from finger surgery that ended his 2014-15 season.

"I can't wait to start the process," Towns said. "It will start in summer league. Me and Tyus are going to go down there, try to improve our game every day. And we're going to come into the [regular] season ready."

The Wolves are planning to reprise the summer-league scrimmage, one that could be star-studded, with all the aforementioned players along with Anthony Wiggins and Gorgui Dieng.

Etc.

• The Timberwolves said there is enough new interest in season tickets since the draft that they will open Target Center on Saturday for those who would like to buy in. The doors will open at 3 p.m.
