Woman dies in crash involving fire truck in St. Paul

The crash happened Saturday night at E. 7th and Cedar streets.

A crash between a fire truck and a car Saturday night in St. Paul left one woman dead and a man injured, authorities said.

The victim, identified by the State Patrol as 76-year-old Diane Kyte of Northfield, was riding in a vehicle that collided with a St. Paul Fire Department truck about 7:50 p.m. at the intersection of E. 7th and Cedar streets, the State Patrol said.

Kyte was taken to Regions Hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the patrol said.

A 77-year-old man who was driving the car suffered non-life threatening injuries, the patrol said.

Four men aboard the fire truck were not hurt, the patrol said.

The crash remains under investigation.
