ABOUT MINNESOTACARE

Recipients pay a modest premium, and the rest is covered by a tax on hospitals and other providers and federal matching funds from Medicaid. To qualify, Minnesotans must have been without health insurance coverage for four months or be working for an employer who pays less than half of the monthly premium costs.
