At least two people died in car crashes on Minnesota roads Saturday.

The most recent fatal crash occurred just after noon on southbound Interstate 35W at W. 94th Street in Bloomington, according to the State Patrol. A southbound Ford Mercury drifted over lanes of traffic into the right ditch, striking a tree. Investigators remained on the scene Saturday afternoon, and further details were not yet available.

Earlier Saturday, a 20-year-old man from Isanti was killed when his car left northbound Hwy. 65 in East Bethel and struck a traffic control light, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

First responders were called to the highway near NE. Viking Boulevard just after 9 a.m. The man was alone in a Chrysler 300 when he struck the pole. He died at the scene.

His name has not been released.

The northbound lanes of Hwy. 65 were shut down for a time after the crash for accident reconstruction.
