Gino Perfetti can dream about California, the ocean and palm trees while sipping a mai tai at his home bar in Ham Lake. A 1960s surfboard serves as the bar top and the walls are plastered with retro advertising signs, photos, posters and beach-related memorabilia.

"I've always wanted to live on the West Coast in a warm climate and I love surfing," said Perfetti, who worked at an advertising agency. "I'm never going to move there, so I decided to build this bar."
In December, he's holding a "Huladay Party" at the Perfetti Paradise Tiki Lounge. "When it's 20 below we crank up the fireplace and have friends over," he said.
