Critic's choice: This week

Sunday Danny McBride, a standout comic in "Tropic Thunder" and "Pineapple Express," brings his vulgar sensibilities and pot-bellied physical antics to "Eastbound & Down" (9:30 p.m., HBO), a promising new sitcom about a over-the-hill pitcher who tries to rebuild his career while toiling as a substitute gym teacher at his former middle school. Those seeking a politically incorrect, anti-hero have a new champion to cheer on.

Monday Nancy Pelosi's daughter, Alexandra, spends a lot of time with conservatives, whether she's profiling George W. Bush or Ted Haggard. Her latest documentary, "Right America, Feeling Wronged - Some Voices From the Campaign Trail" (7 p.m., HBO) captures sound bites from John McCain supporters nationwide. Republicans may feel like only the extremes are represented -- several subjects are out-and-out racists -- but there's no denying these are real Americans with real anger.

Tuesday Minnesota comedian Dave Mordal, best known for being a finalist in "Last Comic Standing," is a pretty laid-back cat, so I'm intrigued by his new series, "Wreckreation Nation With Dave Mordal" (9 p.m., Discovery), in which he takes on tasks such as bullfighting in North Carolina and participating in speed races across the Utah terrain. Let's hope our buddy has a good insurance policy.

Wednesday "Jerome Robbins: Something to Dance About" (8 p.m., KTCA, Ch. 2), the latest installment of "American Masters," doesn't tap dance around its subject. He may have been one of the most influential stage choreographers through works such as "West Side Story" and "Gypsy," but his colleagues are quick to point out that he was also a pain in the neck. The tributes, flavored with respect and more than a little fear, come fast and furious. So do the terrific clips.

Thursday On a new episode of "Grey's Anatomy" (8 p.m., KSTP, Ch. 5), McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey) goes up against ex-wife Addison (Kate Walsh) when they disagree on a case. In other battle news, Cristina (Sandra Oh) faces a renowned surgeon who may be losing her touch. Normally, we'd bet on Cristina, but the top doc is played by Faye Dunaway, which means anything could happen. Another famous face pops up on "ER" (9 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11), as Noah Wyle makes his obligatory appearance. Look for George Clooney to do the same before the series finale in the spring.
