First Snowy Owl of the season reported from North Dakota

First report from ND, SD, or Minnesota

September 28, 2015 at 11:18PM

A Snowy Owl has been reported from Marshall, N.D., a small town about 40 miles south of Canada. This is the first current mention of the species in email I receive from various lists. Pretty early for Snowies.

At the same time, a Ruby-throated Hummingbird is being reported elsewhere in the state. A most unusual pairing.
