Ingestion hazard prompts toy recall

December 24, 2012 at 11:50PM

After an 8-month-old Texas girl swallowed a marble-size toy that expands in water, an Ohio company is recalling the toys, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced last week.

DuneCraft Inc. is recalling about 95,300 packages of Water Balz, Growing Skulls, H2Orbs and Fabulous Flowers toys that were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond, Hobby Lobby, Urban Outfitters Direct, amazon.com and other retailers nationwide.

The toys expand to the size of a racquetball and don't show up on X-rays. A Water Balz had to be surgically removed from the Texas girl's intestines.

Consumers can contact DuneCraft for a "free replacement toy," the recall states. For more information, call DuneCraft at 800-306-4168 or go to www.dunecraft.com.
