The last few resorts damaged by recent storms in the Brainerd lakes area will be reopening over the next few days, area tourism officials said Thursday.

Cragun's Resort is set to reopen Friday; Gull Four Seasons Resort will open Saturday; and Madden's on Gull Lake will reopen Tuesday, said Shawn Hansen, president of the Nisswa Chamber of Commerce.

"We're excited that our community was resilient enough to be back open for business within two weeks of having major storm damage come through our area," Hansen said. The area was hit with a sudden, severe storm on July 12 with straight-line winds of up to 70 miles per hour. Thousands of trees were downed and many resorts and homes were damaged.
