The body of Charles W. Foreman was pulled from the water Sunday night.
The body of Charles W. Foreman, 31, of Brooklyn Center was recovered from the Minneapolis pond about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office said Tuesday night.
A Sheriff's Office dive team completed the task using sonar and verification by a diver, said Andy Skoogman, a Sheriff's Office spokesman.
The Fire Department responded about 8:25 p.m. to the pond on the edge of downtown Minneapolis. Rescue crews believed they saw Foreman in the middle of the pond before he went under, the department said.
Fire crew members put on immersion suits and entered the pond with floatable devices to try to rescue the man. Crews also used a rapid deployment inflatable craft.
The Sheriff's Office and the Medical Examiner's Office are working to determine the cause and manner of death.
