MIAC setting up two-division football

July 2, 2021 at 3:56AM

The MIAC, adding two teams in St. Scholastica and Macalester but losing St. Thomas, will move to a two-division setup for football in the fall.

Carleton, Gustavus Adolphus, St. John's, St. Olaf and St. Scholastica will form the Northwoods Division. Augsburg, Bethel, Concordia (Moorhead), Hamline and Macalester College will form the Skyline Division.

The final week of the regular season will be "Championship Week," and the teams in each division will be seeded and will play the corresponding seed from the other division. The top seeds in each division will play for the MIAC's automatic invitation to the NCAA Division III playoffs.
