A motorist remains jailed Friday and is awaiting charges after he fatally struck a pedestrian in Owatonna and drove off, officials said.

The crash occurred Wednesday morning near Camping World RV sales, police said. The suspect is expected to be charged on Friday in Steele County District Court.
The 42-year-old man from Owatonna, is accused of hitting and killing Taylor Dean Padilla-Ades, 31, of Londsale, Minn., on Wednesday morning near Camping World RV sales in the 3700 block of County Road 45 N.
The driver and the vehicle were found by officers later that same day, police said.
Police said they anticipate criminal vehicular homicide charges to be filed by the Steele County Attorney’s office on Friday.
Court records in Minnesota show that the suspect has been convicted three times for drunken driving and three times for driving after the state had taken away his driving privileges.
