Rain to Invade East; Cold Follows

Rain will wet the East from Maine to Virginia on Monday as another jab of coldair thrusts in from the west.Rain will fall at times through the day from Washington, D.C., north to Bostonand Portland. Rain will reach Norfolk, Virginia, later in the day. Rain, whilenot unusually heavy, will slow traffic along roads and highways up and down theI-95 corridor.

A mild night will lend temperatures a head start upward early on Monday.

Warming will halt at readings in the 50s in areas northward from Maryland andnorthern Virginia. Temperatures will slip back into the 40s during theafternoon thanks to colder air in the wake of a cold front.
