A St. Paul man with a history of sex crimes broke into a woman's apartment last month and raped her, according to charges filed Thursday.
Jacob M. McKinley, 27, was charged in Ramsey County District Court with one count each of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and first-degree burglary.
According to the complaint: The woman woke up in her St. Paul apartment about 4 a.m. on June 16 and saw a light coming through her bedroom door from the living room. She saw a figure of someone walking back and forth by her bedroom door.
Frightened, she pretended to sleep but saw McKinley looking into her bedroom.
The woman got out of bed and confronted McKinley when he walked to the front door.
He allegedly told her that "Mike" had let him inside, but the woman didn't know anyone by that name and ordered McKinley to leave.
McKinley allegedly charged the woman while she was in the bedroom doorway, pinned her on the bed and removed her underwear, the charges said.
He grabbed her cellphone and put it in his back pocket.
