Timeline

Spring 2017: One of two twins escapes south Minneapolis "house of horrors'' and tells staff at a homeless shelter that she's afraid to go home.

Summer-Fall 2017: Hennepin County attorney and Child Protection Services investigate allegations of child abuse and sex crimes at the home.

Feb. 21, 2018: The twins' father, Jerry Lee Curry, surrenders to police; four children are removed from the home.

Feb. 22, 2018: Curry is charged with assault, criminal sexual assault, abuse of a vulnerable adult and other crimes.

March 11, 2018: In interviews with the Star Tribune, neighbors and teachers describe a long history of calls to police and troubling incidents at the house.

March 2018: Hennepin County launches an internal review of its handling of the case.
