Speeding motorcyclist in Cottage Grove crashes and dies

A speeding motorcyclist crashed in Cottage Grove around dusk and was killed, authorities said.
The wreck occurred about 7:55 p.m. Saturday on southbound Hwy. 61 at Leeder Avenue, according to the State Patrol.
Killed was Neville E. Amundson, 58, of Cottage Grove. The patrol said Amundson was not wearing a helmet.
Leading up to the crash, Amundson was traveling "at a high rate of speed" while approaching a curve at an incline, a statement from the patrol read.
