Cafe Latte

For 32 years, the Quinn family has been treating diners to a dozen-plus by-the-slice indulgences, led by the diet-busting splendors of its justifiably famous Turtle Cake, a triple-layer tower of chocolate, caramel, fudge and pecans. The straight-up chocolate version? It's decadence on a plate. $5.75 per slice.

Lucia's To Go

There are always two layer cakes on hand at the counter service side of this 31-year-old Uptown landmark, and both are spectacular: sea salt-flecked chocolate-caramel, and a walnut cake with luscious cream cheese icing. $5.95 per slice.

Yum! Kitchen and Bakery

Celebrate a special occasion — or the fact that it's a plain-old Tuesday — with owner Patti Soskin's layer cakes. One is an ultra-moist chocolate cake slathered in vanilla buttercream; the other is all about coconut and glorious seven-minute icing. $5.25 per slice.
